Vietnam’s Seafood Exports Expand Footprint Across CPTPP Markets
Despite a volatile global landscape marked by technical barriers, intensifying competition, and rising input costs, Vietnam’s seafood exports to CPTPP member states have demonstrated remarkable resilience. In the first 11 months of 2025, export turnover to this bloc grew by 7.23% year-on-year, reaching USD 2.78 billion. This figure represents 26.98% of Vietnam’s total seafood export value, underscoring the strategic importance of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
The media clip on “Commitments on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) under the VIFTA and Comparison with Other International Commitments to Which Viet Nam Is a Party”
The media clip on TBT commitments under the VIFTA, developed by the Multilateral Trade Policy Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is designed to help businesses identify the general obligations and principles related to standards, technical regulations, and conformity assessment. The clip outlines key commitments regarding transparency, the use of international standards, cooperation, and consultation, while also comparing them with other free trade agreements to which Viet Nam is a party, highlighting notable similarities and differences. On that basis, the clip provides reference notes to help businesses proactively monitor new technical requirements, enhance their ability to meet Israeli market standards, and minimize risks in the export process. The content offers an overall perspective, supporting businesses in correctly understanding the context of TBT commitments under the Agreement.

Support for localities, increase the effectiveness of FTA implementation
Recently, participation in new generation FTAs, such as CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA, … has brought many opportunities for Vietnam to grow and diversify the import and export market, as well as attract foreign investment, and contribute positively to the socio-economic development of localities, especially in terms of promoting trade value growth. However, the difficulties of the implementation of FTA in localities remain. The level of concern to the implementation of FTAs in each locality is still insufficient and uneven.
